Un estado de la cuestiĆ³n A1 Cayero Toste, Javier K1 Historia AB The slavery in Canary Islands is perceived as a very important issue along the mostrecient historiography, from Manuela Marrero's works in the period of the fifties and sixties to theworks of Manuel Lobo in the last fourty years, as well as going through other several authors thathad been remarkable for the field of investigation in Canary Islands and its own relationship relatedto the European Growth. The development of the historiography and the concepts are key forunderstanding the evolution of the work and the different ways of analysis about the same subject.The social issues, as well as political and economic matters are analized from several points ofview, and concepts such as the slavery of the epoch, freedom and the conditions where theindividuals were subdued, including mentality and the environment that made possible theeconomical and social conditions of life.
