However, although it was not so visible, their daily activitiesin the household and within their community did contribute to what we nowadaysunderstand as science: recipe preparation, health care, household management, medicaltreatments, combination of substances for different purposes. All this makes it possible toregard women as key participants in scientific development although the oral transmissionof this knowledge has not allowed an earned recognition throughout history.
