AB The Great Recession continues affecting the lives of young people who face theprofessional world, even those who are highly prepared. These economic changes areimportant enough to affect their personal environment and future life. The mainobjective has been to analyze different psychological variables (personality, self-esteem,coping and life satisfaction) in relation to well-being at work in a sample of youngpeople who has been studying during the period of economic crisis. Youngers who havea job according to their studies show greater agreeableness, more job expectations andpositive emotions in the workplace, as well as less alienation and openness to theexperience. Life satisfaction, self-esteem, conscientiousness, symptom reduction and tohave a job according to the studies, contribute positively to professional well-being. Theyoung people living during the economic recession showed less life satisfaction, a loweruse of adaptive coping strategies, such as changing the situation, and higher levels ofopenness to experience, conscientiousness and neuroticism. Practical implications aboutthese findings are mentioned
