El paleopaisaje agrario de Las Siete Lomas (Valle de Güímar).

Abstract

Nuestro territorio está rodeado de emblemáticos espacios sujetos a protección y conservación. Un ejemplo de la preservación del medio natural es el Paisaje Protegido de Las Siete Lomas. Ubicado en las medianías del Valle de Güímar a lo largo de tres municipios de la isla de Tenerife -Güímar, Arafo y Candelaria-. Se caracteriza por ser un paisaje agrario único, fruto de la relación entre el hombre y el medio natural. No ha de extrañar su carácter eminente agrario, pues históricamente este sector natural presenta una cultura agraria arraigada. En este contexto se fundamenta nuestro estudio geográfico regional basado en el análisis de la evolución de los cultivos entre 1990 y 2015 con un enfoque multidimensional. Su desarrollo va a definir la actual situación de la agricultura del paraje natural, una realidad alarmante para el sector primario por el significativo, visible y preocupante abandono agrícola en el que está inmerso.

Our territory is surrounded by emblematic subject to protection and conservation. An example of the preservation of the natural environment is the Protected Landscape of Siete Lomas. Located in the “medianías” of Güímar valley along three municipalities of the island of Tenerife -Güímar, Arafo and Candelaria-. It is characterized by a unique agricultural landscape, the result of the relationship between man and the environment. It should not surprise his eminent agricultural character, because this natural sector has historically entrenched agrarian culture. In this context our regional geographical study based on analysis of the evolution of crops between 1990 and 2015 with a multidimensional approach is based. Its development will define the current agricultural situation of the natural landscape, an alarming reality for the primary sector by the significant, visible and worrying agricultural abandonment in which it is immersed.
