Ganivet y los géneros narrativos pedagógicos

Abstract

La actitud pedagógica de Ángel Ganivet se manifiesta de manera excepcional en su ciclo novelístico de «Pío Cid». En esas dos novelas el personaje principal es un héroe que transmite su ideario a los personajes discentes a la vez que él mismo gana aprendizaje. En La conquista del reino de Maya se produce una identificación entre misión civilizadora y tarea educativa. En Los trabajos del infatigable creador Pío Cid se desarrolla todo un programa educativo. Estos contenidos quedan reforzados en tanto que el autor se sirve de modos expresivos pedagógicos como son la novela de instrucción o Tendenzroman, la novela de formación o Bildungsroman, en su versión de «artista»; e incluso, parcialmente, la novela de costumbres universitarias. Todo ello dentro de la narrativa regeneracionista, que se funde en este caso con la nueva estética modernista.

Ángel Ganivet’s pedagogic attitude is shown in an especial way in his novelistic cycle on Pio Cid. The main character here is a hero that manages to transmit his ideology to the student characters and at the same time he himself gets learning. An identification between a civilizing mission and an educational task is depicted in La conquista del reino de Maya. An educational program is developed in Los trabajos del infatigable creador Pío Cid. These themes get reinforced as the author makes use of pedagogic expressive modes like the novel of instruction or Tendenzroman, the novel of formation or Bildungsroman, in his version of artist; and, partially, the novel of university manners. All this in the field of a «regeneracionista» narrative, that in this case gets mixed with the modernistic aesthetics.
