This final research project work is focused on the analysis of an intervention proposal
developed in the classroom along with the study of some student interviews. A sequence of
tasks related to the search, description and construction of patterns in a problem solving
environment is carried out with students of Third Primary Education. The collection of data,
on the one hand, was through a written task in order to have a main idea of how students face
activities of patterns. On the other hand, and after leaving a period of time, four students with
different performance are deepened through a semi-structured interview. Below is the analysis
and conclusions taking into account the possible limitations of the proposal. As a consequence
of the analysis of the results, it has been possible to verify the effectiveness of the proposal to
develop generalization in the primary period.
