Intencionalidad

Abstract

El rasgo definitorio de los estados mentales es la intencionalidad. Sin embargo, existen diversas perspectivas, diferentes entre sí, que defienden la idea de que lo intencional es el signo de lo mental. En este artículo se considerarán dos de dichos desarrollos (a saber, la tesis representacionalista y la tesis intencionalista) y se argumentará a favor de la superioridad fenoménica del intencionalismo frente al representacionalismo.

The defining characteristic of mental states is intentionality. However, there are different ways to defend the idea that intentionality is the mark of the mental. In this paper, two of such developments (namely, the representationalist thesis and the intentionalist thesis) are considered and some reasons for the phenomenological superiority of intentionalism and against representationalism are given.
