Competitividad empresarial y dinamismo en la creación de empleo e inversión

2020Abstract
El objetivo principal de este trabajo es determinar si las empresas más competitivas, en función de
su rentabilidad y solvencia, son las más dinámicas en la generación de empleo e inversión.
Complementariamente, se pretende establecer la estrategia competitiva de Porter que adoptan
estas empresas.
Para su consecución, se ha seleccionado una muestra de empresas de la actividad de hostelería
que prestan servicios de alojamiento y/o restauración y cuyos estados contables estuvieran
disponibles durante el período comprendido entre 2007 y 2017. Segmentada la muestra por
dimensión, el grupo de las medianas empresas cuenta con un mayor porcentaje de empresas
competitivas que, en este caso, han resultado ser las más dinámicas en la generación de empleo
e inversión. Por otra parte, las empresas dedicadas al servicio de alojamiento optan por la
diferenciación, mientras las dedicadas a la restauración, por el liderazgo en costes. Las
competitivas, en particular, buscan la diferenciación, con excepciones. The main objective of this project is to determine if the most competitive companies, based on their
profitability and solvency, are the most dynamic in employment creation and investment. In
addition, the intention is to establish the Porter’s competitive strategy that are adopted by these
companies.
To achieve this, a sample of companies from hospitality industry have been selected, which include
accommodation and/or catering services, whose financial statements were available during the
period between 2007 and 2017. Segmented the sample by dimensions, the group of medium-sized
companies have the highest percentage of competitive companies that, in this case, have turned
out to be the most dynamic in job creation and investment. On the other hand, differentiation
strategy has been opted for accommodation services companies, while those dedicated to catering
services has been opted for leadership in costs. Particularly, competitive companies have been
sought differentiation, with exceptions.
