Números reales: de Eudoxo a Dedekind

Abstract

A lo largo de este documento se trabajar´an tres apartados claves en el desarrollo del concepto actual de n´umero real. Comenzaremos por ver como se conceb´ıan los n´umeros en la ´epoca de los griegos, luego se expondr´a la teor´ıa de la proporci´on desarrollada por Eudoxo y recogida por Euclides en “Elementos”, y para concluir se hablar´a del trabajo realizado por Dedekind en cuanto a la teor´ıa de los n´umeros reales.

Throughout this document three key sections will be worked on in the development of the current concept of real number. We will begin by seeing how numbers were conceived in the time of the Greeks, then the theory of proportion developed by Eudoxus and collected by Euclid in “Elements” will be exposed, and to conclude we will talk about the work done by Dedekind on the theory of real numbers.
