Abstract

El proyecto de intervención “Somos”, tiene como objetivo prevenir el racismo entre el alumnado perteneciente a las Enseñanzas Secundarias Obligatorias (ESO) y Bachillerato de la isla de Tenerife. Con la implementación de este proyecto se busca promover una sociedad más justa, solidaria e igualitaria, aspectos totalmente necesarios en un mundo cada vez más globalizado, máxime teniendo en cuenta nuestra posición geográfica y nuestra cercanía con el fenómeno migratorio. Así mismo, cabe a destacar que este proyecto busca trabajar con los y las adolescentes como agentes de cambio, partiendo de una educación multicultural para una buena convivencia, ofreciéndoles herramientas, información y habilidades contra el racismo. La metodología está compuesta por tres fases, proporcionando así un orden y adecuado desarrollo de las propuestas de intervención donde primero, se expondrá y promoverá el proyecto, luego se tratará de informar y sensibilizar al grupo llevando a cabo actividades que propicien la prevención del racismo, y, por último, se evaluará el proceso de intervención. En conclusión, basándonos en la revisión de la literatura y de estudios especializados, prevenir el racismo y sensibilizar en torno a este es algo totalmente necesario para evitar conductas violentas o discriminatorias. Además, cabe a destacar que el fin último de la prevención del racismo en nuestra sociedad es una mejor integración de la población migrante.

The intervention project “Somos” aims to prevent racism among high school students (ESO and Bachillerato) in Tenerife. The implementation of this project allows for the promotion of a fair, supportive and egalitarian society, all of which are necessary in a globalized word. Furthermore, these aspects are of great importance when we take into consideration our geographical situation and our long history with the migratory phenomenon. Moreover, it is necessary to highlight the fact that this project looks for the cooperation of teenagers as the main agents of change, with a multicultural education as a point of departure for a good coexistence, thus providing them with the necessary tools, information, and skills against racism. The methodology used in this project consists of three phases, thus providing an adequate order for the development of the intervention proposals, which will first begin by an exposition and promotion of the project, followed by a phase of informing the group and raising awareness by activities favoring the prevention of racism. Lastly, the intervention project will be evaluated. In conclusion, and based on the revision of literature and specialized research, preventing racism and raising awareness is of great importance when trying to avoid racist and discriminatory behavior. Moreover, I must accentuate how the ultimate goal of preventing racism in our society has direct consequences on a better integration of the migrant population.
