This paper studies the relationship between stress and work motivation in the hospitality
industry in Tenerife. A total of 50 subjects from the island of Tenerife, Spain, 20 men and
30 women, aged between 19 and 60 years, participated in the study. They responded to
the scale (name of the work stress scale) and the scale (name of the motivation scale).
The results show that stress and motivation are not related and that seniority influences
employees' motivation in the company. In other words, the longer the employee's
seniority in the company, the lower the motivation. There is no significant relationship
between seniority and stress, but there is a significant relationship between age and
motivation. Thus, the older the workers are, the less motivated they are in their job.
