La disfagia. Repercusiones y tratamiento en la enfermedad de Alzheimer y Parkinson.

La disfagia es el término con el que se designa a la dificultad para tragar o desplazar el bolo desde la boca hacia el estómago. Esta alteración tiene una alta incidencia en
algunas enfermedades neurodegenerativas.
La finalidad de este trabajo de revisión teórica es realizar una comparación de las
características de esta sintomatología en las enfermedades de Parkinson y Alzheimer.
Así como comentar las bases generales de un tratamiento óptimo.
Podemos concluir, que para llevar a cabo una adecuada rehabilitación de la deglución, es importante la coordinación entre los profesionales implicados en el tratamiento. Siendo fundamental el papel del logopeda, ya que este será quien lo acompañe de manera más cercana durante el proceso rehabilitador. Dysphagia is the term that is used to name the difficulty or disability to swallow or move the bolus from the mouth to the stomach. This alteration has a high incidence in some neurodegenerative diseases.
The purpose of this review is to compare the characteristics of dysphagia in Parkinson and Alzheimer's disease. And comment on the general basis for an optimal treatment.
It can be concluded that for a proper rehabilitation of swallowing in these diseases,
a coordination between the professionals involved in the treatment is important. The
speech therapist role is fundamental, as it’s the professional who will accompany the
affected during the rehabilitation process.
