The current tourism on the island of Tenerife is consistently increasing every year. This is primarily
focused on tourism that is not sustainable over time, such as sun and beach tourism. This tourism
involves agglomerations and the exceeding of the carrying capacity of the destination, which is focused
on the south of the island, which is not only a problem for the local population, but also for the tourists
themselves.
This study is presented as a proposal to solve this problem by offering a new tourist product in the city
of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. We propose the implementation of an urban route with a feminist
character in the historic center of the city, exposing and visiting some emblematic buildings. For the
elaboration of the route we will have as reference the publication of Olivia M. Stone "Tenerife and the
six Satellites", which gathers the trip of the author to the Canary Islands in 1883. In it you can see well
referenced all the restrictions and controls that were forced to face the Canarian women of the
nineteenth century
