Transsexual people are part of a vulnerable sector in our current society. Within this
group of people, trans boys suffer even greater invisibility within this group itself, which
is why this research focuses on them, to show a reality that is not clearly shown in
previous research reports: the challenges they present before, during and after their
transition process. For this, a method of semi-structured interviews is carried out, and its
subsequent result in life stories for a greater understanding of the context. The two
voluntary participants are residents of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands,
and each of them presents an experience with the old and current trans law (Law 8/2014
and Law 2/2021 respectively), thus also being able to make a comparison between both
legislatures. The results presented show a great lack of explicit information about the
transition process in trans men on the internet, as well as the social barriers to which the
participants have been exposed both from the immediate environment, as the social one.
Social work pays special attention in the field of transsexuality, since it is a clear example
of the need that society still has to accept the most vulnerable and invisible groups.
