Actitudes del profesorado de Tenerife hacia la multiculturalidad

Abstract

Esta investigación trata de analizar la situación actual del profesorado de la Isla de Tenerife respecto a la multiculturalidad creciente en sus aulas. Con el objetivo de hallar si existen diferencias significativas entre las actitudes del profesorado, de zonas con mayor y menor diversidad cultural, hacia el alumnado inmigrante. Para ello, se agrupó la muestra en dos grupos en función de la ubicación geográfica de su lugar de trabajo. Los resultados revelan que no hay diferencias significativas entre las actitudes del profesorado en función de la zona geográfica. Por lo que no podemos confirmar la hipótesis de que las actitudes de estos fueran más positivas en la zona sur debido a su mayor diversidad cultural. Aunque se mostró que el profesorado de la zona sur percibe una mayor diversidad cultural en comparación con el resto de profesores de la isla.

This research aims to analyze the current situation of teachers on the Island of Tenerife regarding the growing multiculturalism in their classrooms. The objective is to determine whether there are significant differences in attitudes among teachers from areas with higher and lower cultural diversity toward immigrant students. To achieve this, the sample was divided into two groups based on the geographical location of their workplace. The results reveal that there are no significant differences in attitudes among teachers based on geographic zones. Therefore, we cannot confirm the hypothesis that their attitudes were more positive in the southern zone due to its greater cultural diversity. However, it was observed that teachers in the southern zone perceive greater cultural diversity compared to their counterparts in the rest of the island.
