Date
2022Abstract
trabajo.

still perceived by students from a lens of rejection, and this phenomenon is further
increased when it comes to reading in a foreign language. This is since, the school system
has not invested its resources and tools to make reading a source for pleasure, by
presenting it as a monotonous activity and by restricting it to the compulsory curricula.
For that reason, the aim of this piece of work is to present a didactic intervention, using
reading strategies combined with scenic arts, with the aim of improving the perception of
reading in English among students. First, we will introduce the importance of reading
strategies and the factors implied in its success. Furthermore, we will expose the use of
scenic arts as a pedagogical tool and more specifically its relevance when it comes to
encouraging reading in a foreign language. Finally, we will present a proposal of activities
