lenguaje (Schuil, K. D. I., Smits, M., & Zwaan, R. A., 2013).
Language incorporates meaning for and against stimuli by means of verbs (e.g.,
accept vs. reject), which guides adaptive regulation of communication and social interactions,
e.g., "Carla accepted (vs. rejected) Peter's coming to her family's dinner" (approach). It is
proposed that motor execution latency will be facilitated by the comprehension of a sentence
describing an action that has the same motor characteristics as the task response
(approach-ahead: avoidance-behind). In this study, it is hypothesised that anodal tDCS
stimulation in area BA6 will modulate the congruency effect. The stimulation of this area is
the novelty of the experiment since, it has been claimed that BA6 is involved in language
comprehension and production, especially with regard to action and figurative meaning; thus
playing an important role in language representation and comprehension (Schuil, K. D. I.,
Smits, M., & Zwaan, R. A., 2013). The sample used was 60 university students, who
underwent tDCS stimulation in BA6 and then performed a computer task with attitudinal
sentences where subjects could only use their index finger to execute the response on the
keyboard, and once answered they had to return to the rest key, which was located right in the
middle. In the results of the present investigation, we found an important significance of the
direction (front-back) superior to the congruency effect, the latter being the main objective. It
is worth highlighting the difference found in the avoidance condition (anodal) between the
front-back movements, with reaction times being shorter when the movement is backwards
(congruent), confirming that through understanding and neural activations people represent
motor actions before executing them.
