Marcación geográfica y estandarización: diatopismos en los diccionarios de la RAE

Abstract

One of the hallmarks of Spanish academic lexicography and, perhaps, one of the most original aspects of its first dictionary was the inclusion of dialect voices, thus giving continuity to a tradition that had already emerged a couple of centuries earlier. This article analyzes the evolution of the DRAE diatopic labelling system, as well as the most important novelties that have been introduced in recent years with the purpose of eliminating from the dictionary the hierarchy that some of these geolectal labels presented with respect to the European standard. The polycentric and multinormative character of the dictionary, promoted by the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language, has meant a significant change in this type of labelling and, above all, the search for a consensus that highlights the different identities under equal conditions.

: Una de las señas de identidad de la lexicografía académica española y, quizás, uno de los aspectos más originales de su primer diccionario fue la inclusión de las voces dialectales, dando continuidad así a una tradición que ya había surgido un par de siglos antes. En este artículo se analiza la evolución del sistema de marcación diatópica del DRAE, así como las novedades más importantes que se han introducido en los últimos años con el propósito de eliminar del diccionario la jerarquización que presentaban algunas de estas etiquetas geolectales con respecto al estándar europeo. El carácter policéntrico y multinormativo del diccionario, propiciado por la Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española, ha supuesto un cambio significativo en este tipo de marcación y, sobre todo, la búsqueda de un consenso que ponga de relieve las distintas identidades en igualdad de condiciones.
