Violence against health personnel has been a growing phenomenon in recent years,
according to the latest reports issued by the Ministry of Health. In them, it is also reflected
that nursing is the health profession that most faces these attacks. These incidents have
direct consequences on health professionals and are manifested both physically
(injuries) and mentally, affecting the appearance of burnout syndrome and causing
absenteeism and other behaviors, that imply a decrease in the quality of care provided.
The objective of this research is to evaluate the satisfaction of the nursing professionals
of the Emergency Department of the CHUC in relation to the strategy for the prevention
of attacks on health personnel, and it presents as a design a retrospective descriptive
study. For data collection, the self-administered survey format will be used, which will be
completed by members of the nursing team of this service who volunteer. A statistical
analysis will then be carried out using the SPSS platform. The results obtained through
this analysis can become a fundamental tool for the evaluation of the prevention strategy,
and form part of the continuous improvement plan that supports decision-making by the
management of tertiary hospitals.
