2018Abstract
The main objective of this work is to get closer to the nuances about the concepts of
collaborative learning and cooperative learning in compulsory education. A review was made
of the existing publications in the databases of Point Q of the University of La Laguna, Web of
Science (WOS) and the Google Scholar from 2012 to 2017. Once the search was done, a frequency
analysis was carried out regarding the year and country of publication and authors. Likewise,
an analysis of the content of both concepts was carried out. The results showed a total
of 224 articles reviewed, it was the year 2014 where a peak was joined in terms of a number of
publications on both concepts, and Spain the country where the greatest number of publications
came from. As for the authors, we find, on the one hand, that it focuses on collaborative learning;
on the other hand, those that focus on cooperative learning; and finally, other authors who
talk about the concepts establishing differences between them. The content analysis shows
nuances in relation to both concepts, among which those related to the figure of the teacher and
the division of labor stand out. The results are discussed, generating ideas to apply in our work
as educational counselors in our teacher training and advising function.
